Whitacre epidural needle tip is shaped into circular cone or bullet with side-hole for injection of solution. This Pencil Point (Whitacre point) is used for Spinal Anesthesia and is characterized by low CSF outflow due to early occlusion of puncture hole originating in non-cutting tip.
They are available in different sizes with lengths ranging from 90 mm to 119 mm and gauges from 22 G to 27 G. High flow BD Whitacre needles improve flow rate and speed of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) visualisation.
