A Guedel is a rigid plastic tube which sits along top of mouth and ends at base of tongue (an adjunct to help keep airway open) An oxygen mask or bag mask ventilation can be applied over the top if needed. Oropharyngeal airways are hard, non-latex plastic that are preformed in different sizes from 40 mm (infant) to 100 mm (large adult). Smooth airway path for easy cleaning, Color coded for easy identification of sizes 000 To 5.
USE
- Lifts the tongue off the posterior pharyngeal wall to prevent airway obstruction.

- assist oropharyngeal suctioning.
- promotes moulding of the face of a mask for manual ventilation.
